When will my child’s Coach be calling?
Players should receive a call from their coach after the pre-season Coach’s Meeting. This season players will be called about a week before the season starts.

How was my child placed on a team?
For on- time registrations, teams are constructed according to the player’s address into 4 districts NE, NW, SE and SW. The reason for segregating teams by address is so that practices are more convenient for players to attend (for instance, a player in South Weymouth having to go to North Weymouth for practice during a weeknight). It is not intended to allow schoolmates to be on the same team. Ultimately, the only guarantee a player has is that he/she will be on a team with players from Weymouth. Late registrations are assigned to fill openings on teams without regard to address. Division Coordinators are not allowed to administer a division in which their son/daughter plays. This is designed to further ensure that Coordinators form teams without regard to the ability of the players. This is not a tryout league.

My child played for Coach A last year and this year is on Coach B’s team, why?
In some years , some teams may change very little from Spring to Fall. In other years, a complete changeover may occur. Again, the only guarantee a player has is that he/she will be on a team with players from Weymouth. Most players view it as an opportunity to make new friends.

Can I change teams because my child’s Coach has practice on a night that is inconvenient for my schedule?
No changes can be made to the rosters once they are distributed at the Coaches Meeting. It is simply not possible to accommodate every parent's work schedule for practices and transportation. Ultimately, every player that registers has to make it to Riley Field for their games on Saturdays so most often attendance at practice is the issue. WYS asks that each coach have an "open" practice policy so that if a player from another team cannot attend their own practice, they will have an opportunity to attend a more convenient practice.

When will I know about game cancellations?
Game cancellations are posted on the website, www.weymouthyouthsoccer.com by 7:30AM. Please refresh your browser. Many times Volunteers are at the fields working to make them playable and the Go/No Go decision has to be made at that time (and then the sun comes out-ha ha).

My child is playing for the first time, what does he/she need?
Jewlery, earrings and hard casts are not allowed to be worn during practices or games. Uniform Jerseys must be worn and tucked in. All players are required to wear shin pads and they must be covered by socks. Soccer cleats and sneakers are the recommended footwear. Football and baseball cleats are not allowed for safety reasons.

Who are your Sponsors?
WYS is dependent upon the generosity of our Sponsors in order to remain financially solvent. Without the support of our Sponsors, we could not operate. We encourage all our players and parents to support our Sponsors by patronizing their businesses. Sponsors are listed on the front page of our website, on the Schedule and Standings pages and on the backs of the team jerseys. PLEASE SUPPORT THEM IN THESE ECONOMICALLY CHALLENGING TIMES.
